Jodi Mosley

Co-Director

Jodi Mosley is a Child and Youth Worker, Drug and Alcohol Counsellor, has her Behavioural Management Intervention Certification, Financial Management Certification & Advanced Anti-Human Trafficking Certification.

 

Earlier in her career, Jodi worked as the Program Coordinator and Acting Manager of Isumaqsunngittukkuvik, a secure young offenders facility in Iqaluit, Nunavut for 6 years.  During this time, she also held the position of Sexual Harassment Officer for the Baffin Region. 

 

In 2002, Jodi co-founded and co-directs Stepping Stones Foster Care Inc. (SSFC). Most recently, in response to the prevalence of human trafficking affecting those serviced by SSFC, Jodi co-founded A New Day Youth and Adult Services.  This is a charitable organization that offers a residential treatment program for trafficked women; the first of its kind in the region. 

 

Jodi also sits on the Algonquin College Advisory Committee for the Child and Youth Care Program and is an active member of the Ottawa Coalition to End Human Trafficking.  She heads its training program, which provides training to service providers on human trafficking indicators and appropriate responses. 

 

Jodi is the Chair of the Board for A New Day and provides training to community organizations through Lunch & Learns and Training Workshops.  She also provides interactive prevention programs to youth 12-18 years of age.

David Corkery

Co-Director

David Corkery is a graduate of the Therapeutic Recreation Program at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough Ontario.

 

Earlier in his career, David worked as a residential counsellor/program coordinator and program supervisor with the Robert Smarts Centre for over 22 years.

As a former foster parent, David brings empirical experience in fostering children.  In 2002, he co-founded and continues to co-direct Stepping Stones Foster Care Inc. (SSFC).

David has extensive knowledge working with children and youth in a treatment environment and has developed many innovative programs that meet the unique and individual needs of children and youth in this program.

 

David is responsible for the day to day operations, policy and procedures,  intake and monthly training for the foster families.

 

David is a co-founder and Vice Chair of the Board for A New Day and also sits on the board for Ontario Association for Residence Treating Youth (OARTY)

Krysteli Needham

Registered Social Worker, Registered Psychotherapist & Certified Play Therapist

Krysteli Needham received her Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, her Bachelor of Social Work degree through Carleton University, and is further more a graduate of the Child and Youth Worker program at Algonquin College. She has additional training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP-Level 1), Marschak Interaction Method (MIM), Theraplay, Attachment-Focused Trauma Treatment, Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS-Tier 1), Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Suicide Intervention (ASIST), and MindMasters.

 

Krysteli has been working with Stepping Stones for over 10 years, is a clinician at A New Day Youth & Adult Services and works in private practice. She facilitates various groups including DBT informed groups, provides clinical consultation, is a presenter on trauma and trauma informed practice, as well as supervises students from local Colleges and Universities.  

 

Krysteli is passionate about client empowerment while integrating and working from a trauma-informed and attachment-based framework. She embraces a client centred and strengths based approach to her work. She believes in the power of the individual and utilizes evidence-based interventions in conjunction to her easy-going, compassionate and supportive approach. She is dedicated to supporting and advocating for the needs of her clients and watching them grow, develop and flourish. She has been prided on her work through seeing the challenges through clients' eyes and helping them develop their inner strengths to move through their journey.
